Get ready to go
- Check travel advice first. The U.S. State Department rates Bangladesh Level 2, "exercise increased caution", and says do not travel to the Chittagong Hill Tracts (Khagrachari, Rangamati and Bandarban districts). The UK advises against all but essential travel there. Foreign visitors need prior government approval to enter the area.
- Visas and entry: check with the Bangladesh embassy or consulate for your country before you book.
- Health: see the CDC's Bangladesh page for recommended vaccines and food and water advice, ideally a month or more before you go.
Travel advice changes. Read the latest version before you book and again before you leave.
