Sunrise, sunset and golden hour

Exact sunrise and sunset for our spots, plus golden hour (the soft, warm light photographers love) and blue hour. Plan the Kuakata sunrise, a Marine Drive sunset or the view from Garret Mountain.

Good to know

Golden hour is when the sun is low, from just below the horizon to about 6° above it. Blue hour is the deep blue twilight just before sunrise and after sunset.
Times are calculated from the sun's position and are accurate to about a minute. Hills, buildings and haze can hide the sun earlier.
At Kuakata you can watch both sunrise and sunset over the sea. Arrive 20 minutes early for the best colour.
